"What about Your Friends?" is TLC's third single from their debut album, Ooooooohhh.... On the TLC Tip. The single was released in the fall of 1992. "What about Your Friends?" received massive airplay worldwide and became a hit on both R&B and dance charts.

"What about Your Friends?" was written by Dallas Austin and TLC-member Lisa "Left-Eye" Lopes. Dallas Austin also produced the single. The song is an uptempo ballad and is about friends that will betray others and knowing who your real friends are. The remix features one of the first appearances by OutKast.

The song reached #7 on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming the group's third consecutive top ten single, while reaching #2 on Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks. The single was also certified gold by the RIAA.
The song was not as successful in the UK. "What about Your Friends?" became TLC's second consecutive single not to reach the top forty singles in the UK, peaking at #59.
