From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Wharton Brook State Park is a park located in northern North Haven, Connecticut. The park contains a medium sized lake fed by Wharton Brook. Fishing and swimming are permitted at the park, and there are several large picnic areas. The park is a Connecticut designated trout park [1], and is stocked several times per year with trout. Blue herons and other wildlife are often seen. Sleeping Giant State Park is located two miles to the west.

In the early 1900's the park was a roadside rest stop that included a service area for automobiles[2].
