[edit] Summary

[edit] Fair use rationale for What If?

  • Portion: Front cover only, a small portion of the commercial product. No other artwork is used, such as the back cover and liner notes.
  • Resolution: Image is of high enough resolution to identify the album and illustrate the appearance of the artwork, but is of low enough resolution that copies of the image could not be used as artwork on illegal physical copies of the album.
  • Purpose: Image illustrates an educational article about the album from which the cover illustration was taken. It is used as the primary means of visual identification of the article topic. As such, it is a more appropriate image than any other available.
  • Replaceability: Image is not replaceable with an uncopyrighted or freely copyrighted image of comparable educational value.
  • Other information: Image has been published and widely distributed outside Wikipedia. The use of the album cover will not affect the value of the original work or limit the copyright holder's rights or ability to distribute the original.
