WGOT-LP (94.7 FM) is a low power FM radio station that broadcasts from Gainesville, Florida, United States. WGOT-LP is operated as a community radio station by the Civic Media Center, a non-profit library in Gainesville. The station is operating under a FCC-issued construction permit that is set to expire on May 17, 2008.[1]

WGOT-LP broadcasts on 94.7 MHz, sharing this frequency with the radio stations of Faith Presbyterian Church, a member of the Presbyterian Church in America (WVFP-LP) and Calvary Baptist Church, a member of the Southern Baptist Convention (WGLJ-LP). The frequency was previously used by Free Radio Gainesville, a pirate radio station.[2]

The construction permit for WGOT was granted in May 2005.[3] The Civic Media Center first applied for a permit for a low-power FM station in 2001.[4]

WGOT-LP airs several locally produced programs, including "Backseat Vinyl Uncomfortable"[5] and a weekly one-hour show produced by the Civic Media Center. The station has announced plans to become a Pacifica Radio affiliate and to broadcast several Pacifica programs, including Democracy Now! with Amy Goodman and Juan Gonzalez.[6]
