[edit] Editing the best Pern article
Since there exists an article Dragons (Pern), specific information about dragons (such as mating habits) should go into that article. The consequences of dragon-mating on the Weyr itself (unique manner of deciding on leadership, fostering, homosexuality) are appropriate in this article. -Acjelen 20:14, 14 July 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Merging Weyrleader and Weyrwoman into Weyr
Agree. The two articles mentioned are basically just definitions which aren't likely to be expanded. Another alternative would be to merge Weyrwoman into Weyrleader (since the latter term can refer to the former in the plural), and include on the resulting page a list of the Weyrleaders and Weyrwomen of the various Weyrs at various points in history. But that could be done just as easily in Weyr, particularly if the section on Dragons is moved into Dragons (Pern) leaving a lot of empty space (so to speak). --ScottAlanHill 18:02, 10 March 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Only Weyrwoman?
It should be mentioned that Prideth came from Ramoth's first clutch, and her rider was Kylara. Although they were not Weyrwomen in Dragonflight, they were the second queen pair, as junior weyrwomen. Disinclination 04:52, 17 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Origin of the word Weyr
Any idea where the word 'Weyr' comes from, or was it simply invented for the story. -Dave 64.21.123.69 03:14, 11 March 2007 (UTC)
