Weston Park lies immediately west of Sheffield City Centre in England. It is situated next to the University of Sheffield Library, Geography and Firth Court buildings, and across the road from Sheffield Children's Hospital.

[edit] History

Weston Park was the first municipal park in the city and was developed from the grounds of Weston Hall, which came into the city's hands when its owner Thomas Harrison died. Robert Marnock was commissioned to design the park in 1873 and in 1875 the gates opened to the public.

[edit] Features

Notable features include Weston Park Museum (the oldest in the city), statues of the poet Ebenezer Elliot and artist Godfrey Sykes, and a Victorian bandstand.
