Weston, Ohio

Weston is a village in Wood County, Ohio, United States. The population was 1,659 at the 2000 census. Weston is served by the Weston Public Library, which also maintains a branch in Grand Rapids, Ohio.

Weston is located at 41°20′45″N, 83°47′40″W (41.345806, -83.794543)[1].

According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 1.1 square miles (2.9 km²), all of it land.

As of the census[2] of 2000, there were 1,659 people, 638 households, and 454 families residing in the village. The population density was 1,476.2 people per square mile (571.9/km²). There were 662 housing units at an average density of 589.1/sq mi (228.2/km²). The racial makeup of the village was 93.31% White, 0.18% African American, 0.12% Native American, 0.12% Asian, 3.74% from other races, and 2.53% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 9.10% of the population.

There were 638 households out of which 39.5% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 54.2% were married couples living together, 11.0% had a female householder with no husband present, and 28.8% were non-families. 23.0% of all households were made up of individuals and 6.3% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.60 and the average family size was 3.06.

In the village the population was spread out with 29.0% under the age of 18, 11.1% from 18 to 24, 32.7% from 25 to 44, 19.8% from 45 to 64, and 7.4% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 31 years. For every 100 females there were 96.6 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 95.0 males.

The median income for a household in the village was $37,500, and the median income for a family was $44,861. Males had a median income of $31,939 versus $23,011 for females. The per capita income for the village was $16,260. About 7.7% of families and 9.9% of the population were below the poverty line, including 12.5% of those under age 18 and 6.5% of those age 65 or over.
