Westlake Academy

Westlake Academy is an open-enrollment charter school located in Westlake, Texas (USA). The school opened on September 2, 2003 and now holds about 365 students from Kindergarten to 10th grade . It operates under the IB system of schooling for students from 3rd Grade to 10th grade. The PYP program lasts from 3rd Grade to 6th Grade, while the MYP program runs from 7th Grade to 10th Grade. The school has also been certified for the IB DP programme, which will begin in the 2008-2009 school year with the addition of the 11th grade. Westlake Academy will be adding an Arts and Science building to their campus in a few years according to the bond that they held in late December of 2007. Because the now retired head of school Barbara Bruzuela is leaving the new principle hired in her place is Miss Michael Chandra the new headmistress of Westlake Academy
