From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Westin Harbour Castle Hotel is a large, modern hotel located on 1 Harbour Square, next to the waterfront of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It is part of the Westin Hotels chain.
[edit] History
The hotel was originally built in 1975 as a Campeau hotel. In 1987 it came under the Westin banner after being owned by Hilton for some time with the name Harbour Castle Hilton in a property swap with Hilton Hotels for the Toronto Hilton (formerly Toronto Westin Hotel). (more to be added later)
The two-towered 34-storey building sits along Toronto Harbour with 977 rooms renovated in 2007. The top of the hotel features two restaurants, Mizzen and Toula. Both have a panoramic view of the city.
In 1977 the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) searched Keith Richards' room at the Harbour Castle Hotel and arrested him for heroin possession. [1]
