WestGate is one of South Carolina's largest shopping malls, with over 1,100,000 square feet (102,000 m²) of retail space. The mall is located just off Interstate 26 and US Highway 29 on West Blackstock Road in Spartanburg, South Carolina in the city's primary shopping market.
Originally opened in 1975 as the second mall in Spartanburg, WestGate quickly became the dominant mall in the Spartanburg area. Its main competitor, Hillcrest Mall, slowly died and has since been replaced. The mall underwent a major renovation in 1996, adding a new wing and new anchors. While the mall has one floor, its large anchor stores typcially have two levels. The Regal Cinemas is located on a second floor above the food court.
