The Westgate Center shopping mall is a mega-strip mall located in San Leandro, California. It is currently anchored by Wal-Mart, the local chain Pet Food Express, Costco, Sports Authority, The Home Depot and Office Depot. Costco, Burger King and Shell are externally located from the rest of the mall. Westgate Center is one of the many shopping centers in San Leandro and faces tough competition from Bayfair Center as the busiest shopping mall in the town. However, despite Bayfair's prevalence, Westgate Center still receives high numbers of shoppers because there are no other Costco, Sports Authority or See's Candies shops within 10 miles. The mall consists of a strip mall as the first floor with a freestanding Wal-Mart and Costco and joined freestanding Shell and Burger King. A business center is located on the second floor accessible by a stairway behind Office Depot.
