Westfield Westland Mall is a shopping mall located in Hialeah, Florida.
The mall has over 100 stores. The anchors include Macy's, J.C. Penney and Sears. Westland mall also includes eateries such as Fuddrucker's, Chili's, Manchu Wok, McDonald's, Edy's, and more. The mall experiences about 10 to 12 thousand people daily from the Miami metropolitan area. The mall's architecture includes skylights over the main walkway, and smaller outlet and retail stores inside and out.
The mall, then named "Westland Mall" opened in the summer of 1971, after the mall was built to the east of the then standalone Burdine's Department Store. At that time its anchors were Sears, Burdine's and J. C. Penney. Its restaurants included a medium sized cafeteria and a Farrels Ice Cream parlor.
In November 2007, the mall became "Westfield Westland." It's one of seven Westfield malls in Florida and one of two in the Miami area the other is Westfield Broward Mall. It is Westfield's second property named "Westfield Westland" when the Australian company once owned a community shopping center in Denver, Colorado. That center was sold in 2006.
