Westfield Strathpine is a regional shopping centre located in Strathpine, a suburb in Moreton Bay, in the northern part of the Greater Brisbane metropolitan area in Queensland, Australia.
The centre was built and opened in 1983 by The Westfield Group. It is anchored by Big W and Target discount department stores, Woolworths supermarket, Supa IGA supermarket and ALDI Food Store. The centre has a food court anchored by fast food chains such as McDonalds, KFC and Red Rooster. There is also an 8 screen Birch, Carroll and Coyle multiplex cinema, a Bowling Alley and a Zest Health Clubs gym on an upper mezzanine level.
Most of the centre is single level with a rooftop carpark. It has a bus station with services to the City of Brisbane, Redcliffe and Pine Rivers areas. Westfield Strathpine is about a 10 minute walk to QR Citytrain's Strathpine railway station, with frequent services to Caboolture and to Ipswich via Brisbane.
Westfield Strathpine has approximately 160 specialty stores mostly within the categories of clothing, general merchandise, homewares and cosmetics.
Myer Closure and Centre Modification
After the closure of the Myer Department Store at Strathpine on Saturday March 3, 2007, the section of centre where Myer was located was closed off to allow for a redesign. The new "mall" of Westfield Strathpine features a Target variety store, JB Hi-Fi and many other retail stores.
A new 2 level Myer store is expected to in 2008 at Westfield North Lakes. This will ensure that Myer still has a department store in the fast growing northern part of the Moreton Bay region (Pine Rivers and Redcliffe shires).
