Westfield Chatswood is a large shopping centre in the suburb of Chatswood in the North Shore area of Sydney. It is owned and managed by The Westfield Group. It originally opened in 1986 and was redeveloped in the late 1990s to incorporate a previously free standing Grace Bros store (later renamed Myer). Major stores in the centre include Myer, Coles, Food For Less, Target, Toys 'R' Us, JB Hi-Fi and Rebel Sport. The centre also includes a 6 screen Hoyts cinema complex.
On September 23, 2005 a woman fell from the top floor in an apparent suicide attempt, landing on another woman. The woman fell six floors over the side of an escalator, and both women were rushed to hospital.[2] Both were reported to survive, albeit with major injuries.[3]
[edit] Transport
Westfield Chatswood has its own parking station. Westfield Chatswood is a two minute walk from Chatswood station. Sydney Buses and Forest coach lines both provide bus services to different regions of Sydney.
