Western patch-nosed snake

Salvadora hexalepis or, the Western patch-nosed snake, is a colubrid snake residing in southwestern U.S.A, and northern Mexico. Adults are, on average, 20-46 inches long, and have a distictive, thick scale going over the top of it's head. The snake inhabits the arid deserts in it's area. 4-10 eggs are laid during spring or early summer and hatch in August through September.
