Western Sierra Law School is a private, independent and non-sectarian postsecondary degree granting institution located in the city of San Diego, California. The school has full institutional approval by the State of California Bureau for Private Postsecondary and Vocational Education.[1]
The school is also registered with but not accredited by the Committee of Bar Examiners of the State Bar of California. [2] Therefore, students at this institution must take the and pass "Baby Bar" after the first year of law study. Failure of the "Baby Bar" results in student ineligibility to take more advanced law courses or take the State Bar Examination. [3]
Graduates of the school will meet the legal education qualifications for taking the final California Bar Examination and upon passing may be licensed to practice Law in the State of California. Western Sierra is not accredited by the American Bar Association.[4]
[edit] Bar Pass Rate
In October 2006, fifteen students took the California First Year Law Students Examination (the "Baby Bar") for the first time. Two passed. Three students took this examination after previously failing it at least once. None passed. [5]
In the July 2006 California Bar Examination, five graduates took the examination for the first time. None passed. Nine took the examination for, at least, a second time after previously failing it. None passed. [6]
