The Western School of Health and Business Careers, located on two campuses in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA is an accredited, for-profit, tertiary education institution. The school offers degree and diploma programs in several vocational areas including business administration, massage therapy and surgical technology.

The Western School of Health and Business Careers opened in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in October 1980. The school opened its branch in Monroeville, Pennsylvania in February of 1989. In 1987, the Pennsylvania Department of Education granted the school approval to offer students Associate degrees.[1] The school was acquired by Career Education Corporation in 2003 for $8.0 million.[2][3]

The Western School of Health and Business Careers offers several options for Specialized Associate degree and Diploma programs:[1]

The School have found placement of their graduates straightforward due to shortages in the medical professions.[4]

The Western School of Health and Business is accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges of Technology.[1]

In May 2006 Thomas W. Wollett, the former Dean of Education, pleaded guilty in federal court to making false statements to the U.S. Department of Education to procure financial aid for students.[5] This did not affect the degree programs but, as a result, the Diploma programs for veterinary technology, criminal justice and massage therapy were not accredited between 2001 and 2004.[6]
