Western Cartridge Company

The Western Cartridge Company is a manufacturer of small arms and ammunitions founded in 1898 by Franklin W. Olin. Western Cartridge Co. (WCC) later acquired Winchester Repeating Arms Company after Winchester went into receivership in 1931.

Western made a notable contribution to World War II by producing 15 billion rounds of ammunition and developing the U.S. carbine and M1 rifle. Cartridges made by Western are stamped WCC.

It is under the Olin Corporation and is based in East Alton, Illinois, USA.
