Western Canadian Wheat Growers Association
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Western Canadian Wheat Growers Association (WCWGA) is a farmers' advocacy organization based in western Canada. It was founded in 1970 as the Palliser Wheat Growers Association.
The WCWGA opposes the Canadian Wheat Board's single-desk marketing status, and supports open market competition in sales of wheat and barley. The Association's president from 1995 to 1999 was Larry Maguire, who is now deputy leader of the Progressive Conservative Party of Manitoba. Its current president is Cherilyn Jolly-Nagel.[1]
