WA Business News is an independently owned weekly business newspaper established in 1993 and based in Perth, Western Australia, with a total circulation of 12081.[1]
The newspaper was founded by Harry Kleyn and his business partners Vanguard Press as a fortnightly free circulation newspaper in Perth; in 2000, after finding new investors, the paper developed a digital edition and changed to weekly circulation. The editorial department was also expanded. It moved to a subscription model between 2000 and 2004.[2]
The newspaper publishes the Book of Lists, an annual business listing for Western Australia, a free Daily Business Alert email as well as organising a number of events such as 40under40, an awards programme for young businesspeople and Meet the Ambassadors, a collaboration with the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, connecting Australian ambassadors with local businesses which have an international focus.

In 2003, the newspaper won a Bronze prize at the Alliance of Area Business Publications Editorial Excellence Awards. WA Business News subsequently won the Bronze prize for Small Business Tabloid and Best Scoop. In 2007, it won the Gold prize for Best Special Section Design.
