Westchase is an unincorporated census-designated place in Hillsborough County, Florida, United States. The population was 11,116 as of the 2000 census. The Census area is co-extensive with the ZIP code that serves the area (33626).

Westchase is located halfway between Tampa and Clearwater. Its boundaries include Oldsmar to the west, Keystone to the north, Town 'n' Country to the south and Citrus Park to the east. Westchase Golf Course is a major recreational amenity for the community and the course is open to the public also (www.westchasegc.com).Tampa Bay Downs Horse Racetrack is located on the area's western edge.

Westchase was founded in 1991 with the approval of the County Commissioners of Hillsborough County.

Westchase is located at [3] or about 12 miles northwest of Tampa.
(28.052799, -82.611352)According to the United States Census Bureau, the community has a total area of 10.8 square miles (28.0 km²), of which, 10.8 square miles (27.8 km²) of it is land and 0.1 square miles (0.1 km²) of it (0.46%) is water.

As of the census[1] of 2000, there were 11,116 people, 4,177 households, and 3,207 families residing in the community. The population density was 1,034.2 people per square mile (399.2/km²). There were 4,742 housing units at an average density of 441.2/sq mi (170.3/km²). The racial makeup of the community was 86.91% White, 5.06% African American, 0.10% Native American, 4.08% Asian, 0.01% Pacific Islander, 2.15% from other races, and 1.69% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 11.89% of the population.
There were 4,177 households out of which 41.4% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 69.5% were married couples living together, 5.3% had a female householder with no husband present, and 23.2% were non-families. 16.9% of all households were made up of individuals and 2.7% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.66 and the average family size was 3.04.
In the community the population was spread out with 27.4% under the age of 18, 4.4% from 18 to 24, 43.1% from 25 to 44, 19.6% from 45 to 64, and 5.5% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 34 years. For every 100 females there were 96.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 94.6 males.
The median income for a household in the community was $79,561, and the median income for a family was $88,036. Males had a median income of $55,962 versus $38,300 for females. The per capita income for the community was $37,630. About 1.7% of families and 2.4% of the population were below the poverty line, including 3.1% of those under age 18 and 2.5% of those age 65 or over. Westchase is one of the wealthiest areas in Hillsborough County.

Westchase is organized into 28 neighborhoods...or villages. Some of these villages are organized into even smaller subsections. Each of these villages and their "sub-villages," are represented by a Voting Member and at least one Alternate who are elected annually by the residents of a particular neighborhood. The Voting Member represents the neighborhood homeowners in the Westchase Community Association. Some of the villages also have a website that is maintained by a "village webmaster." Residents are encouraged to participate by attending website committee meetings or providing material to help improve the website to the webmaster.

Westchase also has a village with 2 towncenters. The village has a more vibrant community with people walking to shops and village greens. West Park Village has a distinct look which was inspired by Hyde Park, another village in Tampa. West Park Village is made up of condos, townhomes, villages, homes and apartments. West Park Village offers its residents planned activities such as a Summer Concert Series and nightly specials at the different village restaurants.
