The silver division is one of two in the West Suburban Conference. Arguably the most competitive athletic division in the state, Hinsdale Central High School, Oak Park and River Forest High School, York Community High School, and Lyons Township High School are all ranked among the top 10 schools in state championships won, and those schools alone have combined to win more state championships than any other conference in Illinois.
All the schools are also members of the Illinois High School Association
[edit] History
According to WSC folklore, The Silver Division's athletic directors were primarily distinguished gray-haired professionals who all happened to have "silver hair locks", thus securing the name.
