West Hills High School is public, comprehensive high school located in Santee, California, and serves students in grades nine through twelve. Opened in 1987, West Hills is the eleventh of twelve high schools to be constructed in the Grossmont Union High School District. WHHS is the home of the Wolf Pack.

West Hills High School is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC).

  • 1987 - West Hills High School opens with 14 teachers and 300 freshman.[1]
  • 1991 - First graduating class
  • 2007 - John Holler, a then teacher at West Hills, was charged and convicted with having sexual relations with a student.[2]
  • 2008 - Day of silence controversy.

Athletics

West Hill's athletic teams, the Wolf Pack, compete in the North League of the Grossmont Conference and the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) San Diego Section.

The school fields teams in the following sports: baseball, boys basketball, girls basketball, cheerleading, boys cross country, girls cross country, football, boys golf, girls golf, gymnastics, roller hockey, boys soccer, girls soccer, softball, swimming, boys tennis, girls tennis, track & field, boys volleyball, girls volleyball, boys water polo, girls water polo, and wrestling.

West Hills is also well known in the community for its notable theatre program, and has a 500+ seating capacity theater on campus. The theatre program puts on a play in the fall and a musical in the spring, with its Beginning and Intermediate Drama classes performing a collection of scenes called a showcase near the end of the school year and its Advanced Drama class performing a showcase with a format of their choice (recent showcases have been published plays and collections of student-written scenes) shortly after. Recent fall play productions have been The Good Doctor (play), The Diary of Anne Frank (play), Romeo and Juliet, and Fools (play). Recent spring musical productions have been You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown, Little Women (musical), Honk!, and Working (musical).

In the school year 2005-2006 Ebisee Regassa and Cameron Smith decided to start and teach the first two hip-hop classes. Even though they have long graduated, hip-hop is still a class and widely popular.
