West Hagbourne is a small village and civil parish on the southern fringes of the English county of Oxfordshire (formerly part of Berkshire), located on the Berkshire Downs 2 miles south of Didcot.
[edit] Amenities
The village has a pub, the Horse & Harrow.
Education Villagers go to Hagbourne CofE Primary School in neighbouring East Hagbourne until the age of 11. Depending on the sex of the child, they will either go to St. Birinus School (for boys), or Didcot Girls School, both of which are located in Didcot.
[edit] Recent developments
As of 2007, the Great Western Park development, a development of a large area of land to the west of Didcot, threatens the peacefulness of the village, even with the possibility of a relief road, the imposition of over 3,000 more houses on Didcot will continue to overload the small road which passes through this tiny community
[edit] Transport
The village is served by 6 buses a day Monday - Saturday, by the Abingdon Bus Company's Route 94, from West Hagbourne to Didcot via Blewbury.
