[edit] History

Formed in 1964 by a group of local enthusiasts in a local public house (The Wellington) which was situated in the west end of Swansea and so the birth of West End AFC. The clubs first set of jerseys was donated to the club by the late Welsh International Trevor Ford who had lived on Merlin Cresent (situated in Townhill in Swansea) in his early days. 2004 was the club's 40 year anniversary.

When the club first started out it ran just two teams in the Swansea Senior League. At the present the club has three senior teams, three youth teams and twelve junior teams. The club has won the Senior League Championship 12 times, West Wales Cup 5 times, Swansea Senior Cup 7 times and the Open Cup 7 times.

In West End's 40th anniversary in 2004, the club won the FAW trophy with a 3-1 win against Rhydymwyn at Rhayder, the club also won the Swansea Senior League Championship. West End AFC has now taken the step up to the Welsh League being the first side in Swansea to do it through the Pyramid system.

The club can also claim a number of professional players; Chris Coleman (Blackburn and Fulham, Also Manager of Fulham), Chris Llewellyn (Wrexham and Welsh International), Anthony Wright (ex Liverpool Trainee and Oxford United), Dean Andrews (ex Swansea trainee). All these and possibly many more have progressed through the West End Junior and youth sections of the club.
