West Croydon railway station is a railway station on both the Grange railway line and Outer Harbor railway line, which is located in the western Adelaide suburb of West Croydon. It is located 5.1 km by railway from the Adelaide Railway Station.
West Croydon came about as a result of a meeting between local residents and the Railways Commissioner in 1914. Initially, the station was to be called York, after a nearby subdivision, but was later changed to West Croydon.
West Croydon is unique in Adelaide in that the platforms go over a road. Rosetta Street, which originally crossed the Port Line on the level, went under the Port Line in a subway in 1910. The platforms were built in 1915 over the subway and the station was opened on 21 December 1915.
In March 1978, the building on the Down platform was destroyed by fire. The ticket office on that platform was immediately closed. The ticket office on the Up platform was closed on 12 December 1980.
