West Central Wireless is a local Mobile phone provider in West Texas based in San Angelo, Texas with satellite offices in Brady, Texas. [1].
West Central Wireless's services consists of an 850MHz GSM network, along with legacy D-AMPS (TDMA) and analog AMPS networks.
West Central's GSM network currently provides native service in the following sixteen counties of West Texas: Tom Green, Concho, McCulloch, San Saba, Menard, Mason, Reagan, Kimble, Kerr, Gillespie, Kendall, Irion, Sterling, Schleicher, Glasscock, and Coke.[2]
Through roaming agreements with other companies such as AT&T Mobility, Alltel, and Dobson Communications,[3] West Central is able to provide their customers with service even when outside their home coverage area. Roaming typically incurs an extra charge however depending on the customers particular rate plan.
West Central Wireless also owns a 1900MHz (PCS) license which the company uses to provide High-Speed Wireless DSL Internet under the name West Central Net to small business and residential customers in San Angelo. [4]
