[edit] Culinary Arts

The Culinary academy in West Boca has a kitchen which has been used as a "model culinary kitchen" for all schools. The kitchen has many tools used in professional restaurants, including industrial dishwashers and ovens. The academy only requires three years of completion; however graduating with three years instead of four does not get a student the same recognition as someone who fully completed four years. The head of the culinary academy is Chef Hall. Chef Suarez and Chef Pearson are also instructors in the Culinary Arts Academy. The students learn the ins and outs of cooking, they learn how to apply for jobs, interviews, their way around the kitchen, and the history of culinary.[7]

[edit] School Rating

West Boca High earned an "A" rating from the State of Florida Department of Education for each of its first two school years. In 2006, school principal Francis P. Giblin received a commendation from state Governor Jeb Bush and Commissioner of Education John Winn honoring the school as one of the top fifty high-performing high schools in the state of Florida.

[edit] 2006-2007

Despite having previously earned "A" ratings, during the 2006-2007 school year West Boca High earned a "B" from the State of Florida Department of Education.[8]
