West Bengal State University

West Bengal State University is a newly established university situated in Barasat, West Bengal, India. The Vice Chancelor of West Bengal State University is eminent educationist Prof. Asok Ranjan Thakur.

All the 57 colleges in the district of North 24 Parganas, which were formerly affiliated with the University of Calcutta, would be affiliated to this university.

Some of the better known colleges currently functioning under this university are Bidhannagar College and Barasat Government College.
