Weslandia

Weslandia is Paul Fleischman's 1999 novel (illustrated by Kevin Hawkes). It also is the name of a fictional country popularized by the novel. It was created by a student outcast who creates the country/civilization as a school project. In the end, he is regarded as a hero, and the country is very popular. The concept is very similar to modern micronations.
