Wesley "Wes" Whitead is a Democratic member of the Iowa House of Representatives, representing the 1st District since 2002. Previously he served in the House from 1995 through 2000. [1]
Whitead currently serves on several committees in the Iowa House - the Government Oversight committee; the Local Government committee; the Natural Resources committee; the State Government committee; and the Veterans Affairs committee, where he is chair.
Whitead was re-elected in 2006 with 5,075 votes, defeating Republican opponent Jamie Simmons. [2]
