Wes Matthews

Wesley Joel Matthews (born August 24, 1959 in Sarasota, Florida) is a retired American basketball player.

A 6'1" guard from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Matthews was selected by the Washington Bullets with the 14th pick of the 1980 NBA Draft. He played nine seasons in the NBA with the Bullets, Atlanta Hawks, Philadelphia 76ers, Chicago Bulls, San Antonio Spurs, and Los Angeles Lakers, scoring 3,654 career points and earning two NBA Championship rings (both with the Lakers) [1]. Matthews also won a championship with Tulsa of the Continental Basketball Associationin 1989. He was known for being an effective shooter despite shooting the ball with no rotation (almost like a baseball "knuckleball").

After his NBA career had ended in 1990, Matthews played in the Philippines. His son Wesley Matthews currently plays basketball for Marquette University [2].
