Wes Carroll (radio & tv personality & publisher)

Wes Carroll is a radio and TV personality in Columbus, Georgia (GA) and publishes an entertainment and sports magazine called The Edge Magazine. He is also a former Guinness World Record holder for most different hugged by one person in a 24-hour period.

Wes created and produced a TV show called Not Quite Late Nite with Wes Carroll that ran from August 1995 to March 1998 on WCGT - TV 16 in Columbus, GA. The show was a live talk show which featured local current events, interviews, and a regular cast of characters: Brian Hale, E.J. Sullivan, Frank Mann, Jaime Connell, Jon Bishop, Cory Pylant. Frequent callers included: "Batman", Earl Williams and the Williams Family, and Amy Storey.
The first guest on the show was radio personality Dan Brennan from WGSY FM Sunny 100.
Today Wes can be seen Thursday nights on Fox 54 News at 10 discussing entertainment in Georgia. He also appears on the Fox 54 7am News with Chuck Leonard.

The first guest on Not Quite Late Nite was radio personality Dan Brennan. Dan offered Wes a job at Sunny 100 where he worked from August 1995 until May 1998. He then accepted a job at sister station WVRK-FM Rock 103 where he worked as the night show host and midday host until May 2000. He then accepted a position as the night show host on WBFA-FM B101. He was soon moved to middays, briefly at mornings, and then to afternoons where he spent most of his time on the air. Wes was also made Program Director of the station. On Labor Day 2004, WBFA-FM changed formats and the entire staff was laid off including Wes.
Today Wes does regular radio appearances on WDAK-FM's and WGSY-FM's morning shows to promote a nature center called Oxbow Meadows Environmental Learning Center which is part of Columbus State University.

In April 2005 Wes created a new publication in Columbus, GA called The Edge Magazine. It's an entertainment and sports magazine filled with current events, interviews, and upcoming entertainment and sports coverage.
[edit] Guinness World Record
On June 4, 2003, Wes set a Guinness World Record for most different people hugged by one person in 24 hours. He hugged 2004 people. The record was beaten the following year by a Virginia radio personality.
