[edit] Seattle maps
Hi. I noticed the maps you are uploaded and that you tagged them a public domain maps from the federal goverment. Before anyone jumps on you, I wanted to ask if you if you are certain of that, or are they produced by the Seattle/King County government? If its the latter, they may not be automatically in the public domain, since the federal government copyright status does not filter down unless specifically stated. Is there a place on that web site that explicitly gives the copyright status of those images? Just wondering. -- Decumanus 23:21, 2004 Nov 25 (UTC)
Reply: Quite right. I sent an email to the City Clerk. I updated the images with PUI.

- Those maps were created by the Seattle government, and as such, cannot be assumed to be in the public domain without that expressly being stated. http://clerk.ci.seattle.wa.us/~public/nmaps/aboutnm.htm does not speak to the copyright situation at all. I've temporarily taken down the maps. If the City Clerk actually gives permission, that's great, but if not, we can always link to these maps as external links. --Lukobe 02:53, Nov 26, 2004 (UTC)
Update: I emailed the Clerk's office asking if the maps were in the public domain. I received reply from the office saying: "These maps are indeed in the public domain. We do request that if you use them in another context that credit be given to Seattle City Clerk's Office. There is also an explanation of the purpose of the atlas at: http://clerk.ci.seattle.wa.us/~public/nmaps/aboutnm.htm These maps are not to be considered "official" in any sense other than explained there. Thanks for your interest."
So, I have restored the downtown map to the downtown page, I gave credit on the image page, and said that the map was not official in the image's descrioption, per the office's requests.

This is very inspiring, but unfortunately, you didn't use the lam-alif ligature which is basically obligatory in this style of Arabic writing. AnonMoos 18:16, 2 September 2005 (UTC)

[edit] linguistics
Hello! There are long discussions at Talk:Ancient Greek phonetics, and apart from re-organising the article in a NPOV way, we need more info. Information like the current names of Reuchlinian and Erasmian systems - perhaps they are traditional and reconstructed, before some years they were also called iotakistes (gr ιωτακιστές) and etacistes (gr ητακιστές) because of the disagreements between the two systems on ι,η,υ (if I'm not mistaken), information like how the erasmian/reconstructed system has involved and modern criticisms of the reconstructed and the traditional system. I hope you can help us a little bit. You may share your thoughts at Talk:Ancient_Greek_phonetics. Thanks! +MATIA ☎ 20:01, 28 November 2005 (UTC)
[edit] subpage deletion
You didn't have to use the Miscellany for Deletion process to get that sub-page deleted. As a part of your userspace, you could have simply tagged it for speedy deletion using {{delete}}. That drops the page into a category that some admins patrol to carry out the deletion. If it didn't get attention fast enough, you could also just drop a note on any admin's user page. Take care. [edit] Al Hoceima
Dear Sir, if it ain't a matter of copyright for you, would you mind sharing your [[Image:Al_Hoceima_Morocco.jpg|thumb|Al Hoceima]] with everyone as a GFDL-photo? Than it'll be possible to use it on Dutch Wikipedia as well. Verrekijker 20:21, 14 May 2006 (UTC)
