[edit] western ghats of Maharashtra

I do not think 60% of western ghat is in karnataka.... need to correct these details/ also need to check other details if they are correct. Somebody is trying to overemphasis the karanataka. Need to put only correct details
Western ghat starts from Thane and reaches the end of kerala in south.
Also one more question as to Why is it Called WESTERN Ghat if it is in South. This should be called as Sourthern Ghat in that case.
Also Dinesh, please stop redirecting all links to Karanataka Subject, otherwise this creates impression that you are trying to promote karanataka and do not give exact details.
[edit] Blank Image
[[Image:Western-ghats.GIF|right|thumb|200px|The ''Western Ghats'' range runs parallel to the western part (coast) of India]] is blank, If anybody knows the correct path, or its a null image do appropriate --Praveen 18:27, 8 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Promoting Karnataka?
Keep your political instincts to yourself. I write about Karnataka because I am from there and have been invloved in Wildlife Photograpy there for many years. No body is stopping you from writing about any other state. I did not put any links there. So stop complaining . You will have your citations pretty soon. Also its called western ghats because it is in the west of Peninsular India.

[edit] Picture of Jog Falls
I think the picture of the water fall shown is not Jog Falls as mentioned.

Reply Have ever been to Jog falls in full flow, meaning high monsoon season. If you did , you would change your mind.Dineshkannambadi 00:29, 20 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Promotion of Karnataka by currupting information
Yeahh 60 % WESTERN GHAT is in Karnataka, WHAT STUPID non-sense statistics. I think then 10% is in Gujarat, 10% in Maharashtra, 10% in Goa and 10% is in Kerala. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.12.210.21 (talk) 21:17, 18 December 2007 (UTC)

- This article is a tedous work in progress. I'm now just trying to get it cleaned up and organized. Much additional content is available and can be added to this outline. This article has been rated as Category:Top-importance India articles on the importance scale by the WikiProject India and is currently a Candidate for future collaboration of the WikiProject Protected areas of India. Maybe the many editors who have contributed here so far can get the article upgraded to Category:GA-Class articles or better with some more work. -Marcus 05:59, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
