[edit] Three Judges

The plaque on the site, IRCC, mentions only two of the three RJ's (one the son-in-law of the other). (And i don't think i'm mistaken: I can name the 3 surnames, and was surprised by the plaque, as i had always told the story naming all 3.)

Only Goffe and Whalley hid in the Judges' Cave, I believe. At the time, Dixwell had already been living in New Haven for some time under an alias. --Polaron | Talk 03:33, 13 May 2008 (UTC)
Yes, i see our bios say so.
With Google i found
14 for " three Judges'" OR" three Judges" OR " three Judge's" "West Rock Ridge " "Judge's cave" OR "Judges cave" OR "Judges' cave".
44 for "West Rock Ridge " "Judge's cave" OR "Judges cave" OR "Judges' cave"
Among those hits, the only state-sponsored page i could recognize as such was [www.nochildleftinside.org/parks/westrockridge.php from nochildleftinside], the (IIRC) joint state-DEP/AMC project, and the descriptions seem to be written by the participating families.
The state page for the park makes no mention (including on the fairly valuable map). I conclude that the "Three Judges' Cave" comes from people knowing the cave exists, and that New Haven had 3 regicide judges, without having the details down right. (BTW, there are
5 for "three Judges motel".
including a kinda cool hero story.
I'm dropping the "three".
