The problem of West Croydon is and remains what people interpret to be West Croydon. Do people in North End or the Wellesley Road really think they are in West Croydon, or do they think they are in Croydon. I think the latter is the case. It's a very moveable border, and is negotiable with each individual what he believes. I think both articles South Croydon and West Croydon belong to Croydon. These have been created artificially. Everyone has a different interpretation of where South and West Croydon starts. Is West Croydon half-way down North End or right at the end of North End? Who knows? It can't be determined, mere signposts may either show the way to West or South Croydon or may be part of West or South. Who knows? We certainly know where we stand with Croydon. I have copied this from my similar talk page from South Croydon, for the simple reason the same reasoning applies to both.
