From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Western Soccer Alliance was a short lived west-coast U.S. based soccer league which began in 1984 as a challenge cup. It merged in 1990 with the American Soccer League to form the American Professional Soccer League. During its short existence, it provided one of the few outdoor soccer options available to U.S. players and as such, attracted several of the era's top players.
