Wentworth Senior Masters
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Wentworth Senior Masters is a men's professional golf tournament on the European Seniors Tour. It was first played in 1997, when it was won by one of golf's all time greats, Gary Player of South Africa. It is staged at the Wentworth Club on the western fringes of London, which is the location of the headquarters of the PGA European Tour organisation that runs the European Seniors Tour. Thus it is in a sense the Seniors Tour's home tournament. It takes place on Wentworth's Edinburgh Course (the two European Tour tournaments at the club, the BMW PGA Championship and the HSBC World Match Play Championship are played over the West Course). In 2006 the prize fund was £250,000.
