Wendy Turner Webster

Wendy Turner Webster is a journalist, TV presenter and animal rights campaigner. Born in Stoke-on-Trent, she is married to actor Gary Webster, and her older sister is Anthea Turner.

Before TV Turner Webster worked in commercial radio, writing and producing commercial scripts and fronting on-air features such as film, travel and book reviews. She also wrote for magazines including OK!. Her television career began at Live TV working as a news reporter for the sports desk and fashion desk and later hosting her own shows "Videobox" and "Revelations with Nina" (psychic phone-in).
Known for her passion for animal welfare, she was chosen to host Channel 4’s "Absolutely Animals". This show was a fore-runner to Pet Rescue which Turner Webster hosted for 7 years. Spin-offs from Pet Rescue were "The Pet Rescue Roadshow" and "Family Pet Rescue". Turner Webster re-voiced in 2005 several hundred episodes of Pet Rescue for repeats on Animal Planet.
Turner Webster's other TV projects include BBC One's "Your Kids Are In Charge", presented with her sister Anthea. She has also presented several episodes of "The Last Word" Central Television, and the BBC documentary about domestic violence "Hitting Home".
Today, Turner Webster can be found on Nick Jr channel daily hosting a second series of "You Do Too". Turner Webster will host a new channel called "Horse & Country TV", and work as a presenter for "The Baby Channel".

Turner Webster does not eat or wear animals and is Patron of The Vegan Society and The Vegetarian Society. In 2001, Turner Webster wrote on behalf of PETA to the Duke of Kent as president of the Scout Association, requesting that they retire the Angling badge on grounds of cruelty to animals. This was rejected [1]. In 2006 she will launch on-line footwear company "Secret Goddess", which will specialise in ultra glamorous boots and shoes of non-animal origin.

Pantomime credits include Cinderella, Goldilocks, Robin Hood and Aladdin. It was whilst playing Maid Marian in pantomime that Turner Webster fell in love with actor Gary Webster, who starred in Family Affairs. They married in 1999 and have two boys, Jack (6) and Freddie (3).
