Wendy Orme

Wendy Orme (born 1911) was a screenwriter and the second wife of Emeric Pressburger.

She was born as Gwynneth May Zillah Orme in Anglesey, Wales. Her father was Edward Regnald Orme, army officer. She was a great beauty in her day. Her grandsons are the film makers Andrew Macdonald and Kevin Macdonald.

She collaborated on Emeric Pressburger's film Twice Upon a Time (1953).

She was married three times:

• 1) Jack Green (Abraham Jacob Greenbaum) (divorced 1946)
• 2) Emeric Pressburger (1947 - divorced 1971); (two children, one of whom died as a baby in 1948)
• 3) Harold Newman (1971- to date)
