Wendy Helsby is an analyst of the film industry, in particular its relation to education.[citation needed] She has written for Sight and Sound and Media Guardian.
Helsby has written a number of books for the BFI, notably Understanding Representation (BFI Publishing, ISBN 1-84457-080-0) that has sold more copies than most educational books from the publishing house. She currently teaches Film and Media Studies at Queen Mary's College while continuing her research and writing more on the subject of film.
