Wendell State Forest

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Wendell State Forest, 7,566 acres, is located on a forested and hilly upland plateau south of the Millers River and west of the Quabbin Reservoir in Massachusetts. Much of the park roads were developed by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s. There is a day use area at Ruggles Pond in the center of the state forest. Backcountry camping is available at a lean-to along the Metacomet-Monadnock Trail. The forest is used for mountain biking, swimming, hiking, and hunting (in season), as well as forest product extraction.
