[edit] No source text please!
Please note that wikipedia is not a repository for source texts, so if Guidelines for National Unification is not written into an article, it will have to be deleted. Cheers, Jiang 03:42, 5 Aug 2004 (UTC)
- Yes, source texts would belong at wikisource. If you want to, you can leave behind some commentary on the Guidelines that can do for an article. --Jiang 04:59, 5 Aug 2004 (UTC)
[edit] Encoding
Chinese should be in html unicode. The software automatically converts this i think if you insert the displayed chinese and submit it. are you just sumbmitting the unconverted Big5 Code? I converted your code (using IE 6) by going to View -> Encoding and selecting Chinese traditional. I'm not knowledgeable on the details, so if it doesn't work, try asking the wikipedia:village pump. --Jiang 06:42, 5 Aug 2004 (UTC)
- I'm not sure what you mean by "main page". The wikipedia main page?
- Looks like the encoding at Guidelines for National Unification isn't working. I'm not sure what's wrong so post a question at the wikipedia:village pump. --Jiang 08:40, 22 Aug 2004 (UTC)
[edit] Taiwan Notice board
Hello, I am coming to advertise the Wikipedia:Taiwan-related topics notice board which is designed for people to interact and discuss proposals. Since it is relatively new compared to other boards, it is not quite active yet. I have just noticed that you are having a great time living in Taiwan. :) I am wondering if you would consider to sign in as one of the contributors?Mababa 05:07, 8 Feb 2005 (UTC)
[edit] AFD
Hi - the article under AfD at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Joy English School has now been listed at Wikipedia:Copyright Problems becauseof a major copyright violation in it. I'm not sure what the policy is when an article is listed at both - but I'm just letting you know! Martinp23 15:07, 21 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Taiwan Project
Right. It is indeed not very appropriate..I'll change it. AQu01rius (User | Talk | Websites) 00:46, 4 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Taiwan
Hi, I've notice that you have edited a lot of Taiwan-related articles. Although we might have the same POV, please discuss in the talk pages first before making edits. You would have a less chance of getting into troubles. Thanks.--Jerrypp772000 16:14, 14 February 2007 (UTC)
- Yeah, I wanted you to know that because I had been blocked twice in the past for violating the 3RR, and now I'm more careful.--Jerrypp772000 16:53, 15 February 2007 (UTC)
-
- Also, if the page has a POV tag, go straight to the talk page, DON'T edit it. Not even if you wrote something in the talk page. Thanks.--Jerrypp772000 16:59, 15 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Your edit to Chiang Kai-Shek
Re your revert: Free China is a disambiguation page; per WP:DAB, there should not be links to it. The sentence reads "During the Cold War, he was also seen as the leader who led Free China". Free Area of the Republic of China is about this concept (the contrast of "Free China" and "Communist China"). The other links at that disambiguation page are obviously inappropriate targets here. An excerpt:
- This term came into usage again amid the Cold War. Following the Communist victory in the Chinese Civil War in 1949, the People's Republic of China was established by the Communists in control of mainland China while the ruling Kuomintang government retreated to Taiwan (and its surrounding islands) and declared Taipei to be the provisional capital of the Republic of China. The KMT viewed the Communist-declared People's Republic of China as an illegitimate entity and regarded its government to be the sole legitimate government of China. Mainland China was declared to be in a state of "Communist Rebellion" (the "Period of Communist Rebellion" would be officially terminated by the ROC government in 1991).
- To support this view, the KMT referred to the territories under its control as the "Free Area" to distinguish itself from the territories under the Communists, whom the KMT tried to portray as oppressive and totalitarian.

[edit] Re: 228 Incident
Yeah, what I was trying to convey was that while LTH apologised on behalf of the government and the KMT at the time, he is no longer a member of the KMT. The original formulation doesn't quite provide the full picture. If you believe there are better ways of conveying this please feel free to make the changes. -Loren 22:39, 1 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] re: Taiwanese American
Hi there, just wanted to give you a note that I am not reverting on Taiwanese American out of any disrespect to you or other users inovlved. I am approaching it from two basic principles:
- WP:RS: the two sources which seem to be continually deleted seem to me to be reliable sources, so until the debate settles to the contrary, I see no reason why they should be removed.
- A presumption that edits made by User:Certified.Gangsta on China and/or Taiwan related pages are vandalism and should be reverted. --Sumple (Talk) 08:26, 4 March 2007 (UTC)
Im not personally aware of any policy against "recruiting" users to disputed talk pages. Wikipedia:Resolving disputes says to first talk with other parties involved and to later ask for third parties to comment.--Jiang 09:18, 4 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] WP:CVU status
The Wikipedia:Counter-Vandalism Unit project is under consideration to be moved to {{inactive}} and/or {{historical}} status. Another proposal is to delete or redirect the project. You have been identified as a project member and your input as to this matter would be welcomed at WT:CVU#Inactive.3F and at the deletion debate. Thank you!
