[edit] License tagging for Image:Bullashop.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Bullashop.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 04:06, 14 April 2007 (UTC)
re: Bullaburra- if family members cannot contribute oral history how else is this information ( and private images!) to be preserved and recorded?? This small contribution not only adds a large missing link from the Mid Mountains Historical Society's pages, but is verifiable by many living participants in the history.
This is the first time I have contributed anything- it is an extremely confusing and UN-user friendly system to use-I have no idea where this information is supposed to be or where it will go or how to do this properly!? Elitist!!
- Unfortunately the information may not belong on the encyclopedia to begin with. In order to keep information reliable, we can't publish information based entirely on primary sources such as interviews and oral history conducted by an editor. The relevant policy on this is here. In addition, content must meet notability criteria- we unfortunately cannot accept every family's genealogy and history. This is usually because this type of stuff does not have independent, secondary verification, and it deals with biographies of living people - don't forget, this is one of the top 10 websites in the world - any information you add can be edited by other people and viewed by anyone in the world. You should also consider the fact that your addition didn't really add much information about the city itself- it just added a bunch of oral history about your family. Finally, it's usually a very bad idea to write about your family, friends, or anything related to you because of conflict of interest issues. Basically, it's impossible to write something neutrally when you have an association with it.
- On a positive note, the image you provided is useful for illustrating the town's history, so I've included it in the article. If you have any questions, just ask me on User talk:Wafulz. Just remember to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~), which are automatically turned into a signature and timestamp. --Wafulz 15:24, 14 April 2007 (UTC)
