I guess the mining settlement of La Rinconada ist much higher anw with a few 1000s inhabitants a real village or town. It lies between 5200 - 5500 metres. Wenchuan ist just a truck-stop, nobody is living there.

Which La Rinconada are you speaking of? I presume it must be in the Andes - but it would be good to know for sure. The one in Spain has an elevation of only about 15 m. Thanks, John Hill (talk) 08:52, 8 February 2008 (UTC)
