Welsh Varsity
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Every year, the Welsh varsity match happens, between Cardiff University and Swansea University. The sports represented at this event are women's and men's rugby union, hockey, squash, badminton, lacrosse, golf, basketball and fencing. Profits go towards charity. The centrepiece of the day event is the rugby union match between the two sides.

On 16 April 2008, Swansea University and Cardiff University held a boat race on the River Taff. The race started near the Millennium Stadium and finished in Cardiff Bay.[3]. The Women's race was first, and saw a narrow victory for the cardiff reds. The men's boat race provided a less exciting race, but a clear victory for Cardiff. Swansea have asked for a re-row following a massive crab by one of their rowers.
