Welsh Centre for International Affairs

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Welsh Centre for International Affairs (WCIA) is Wales's national forum for the exchange of ideas on international issues and is based at the Temple of Peace, Cardiff.

It was founded in 1973 to:

  • raise awareness of global issues in Wales;
  • campaign to promote world peace, human rights and international understanding;
  • provide a key point of contact in Wales for international bodies and institutions.

Today, the WCIA works towards its objectives through publications, campaigns, seminars and events on a range of humanitarian and international issues. Its staff and facilities also provide support for the activities of other organisations, including the United Nations Association Wales, CEWC-Cymru (the WCIA's schools arm), UNA Exchange, Cynefin y Werin (Common Ground), Cyfanfyd (The Development Education Association for Wales) and EuropaWorld.
