Wellwood Middle School

Wellwood Middle School is a New York public middle school on South Manlius Street in the Village of Fayetteville. The school serves grades 5-8 in the Fayetteville-Manlius Central School District, and enrolls approximately 800 students. Built on the former Wells Estate, Wellwood opened in the 1920s as Fayetteville High School, and has been added onto and remodeled many times since. What is now the auditorium was then known as the "Fayetteville Playhouse" and attracted many significant celebrities to its stage. The school's current predecessors are Fayetteville Elementary School and Mott Road Elementary School. The principal is John Almonte.

The District is sometimes know for strict punishments, even giving some students a suspension for name calling.

Musician Maxwell Johnson was taught there.
