Wellpark Brewery

Wellpark Brewery was founded in 1740 at Drygate Bridge, Glasgow, Scotland by Hugh and Robert Tennent.[1] It is currently owned by Tennent Caledonian Breweries which is a wholly owned subsidiary of Bass Brewers, itself owned by Belgian brewing company InBev (formerly known as Interbrew). [2]
The company make Tennent's Lager and Tennent's Super.

Wellpark Brewery was originally known as Drygate Brewery. It was founded in 1740 at Drygate Bridge, Glasgow, Scotland by Hugh and Robert Tennent. The business expanded in the 1790s when the Tennent family purchased the neighbouring brewery of William McLehose, and renamed the 5 acre site Wellpark Brewery.[3]

Tennent's Lager is Scotland's best-selling pale lager. The lager was first brewed in 1885 by Hugh Tennent and in 1893 it won the highest award at the Chicago World's Fair. Tennent's was the first lager to be brewed in Scotland.

Tennent's Super strength lager reaches a 9% volume of alcohol and contains 4.5 Units in the most common 500ml can.

The brewery can be found on Duke street in Glasgow.

The Tennent's brand is used for sponsoring music and sport including the Scotland's largest outdoor music festival T in the Park, T On The Fringe in Edinburgh, Triptych, T Break and T Vital in Northern Ireland
In football the brand is used to sponsor Scottish Futsal and historically the Scottish Cup for 18 years, Tennents' Sixes and the Tennent's UK Snooker Championship even so the latter was held at the time in Preston in England. Tennent's is also the new sponsor of the Scotland national football team, replacing supermarket chain Morrisons. This deal was signed on October 3 2006 and came into effect in time for the European Championship qualifying victory against France on October 7 2006.
